Ashley Madekwe and Ashley Leggat
Madekwe was born in South London, England into a mixed family. Both her parents are both English. She was a student at The Brit School when she was 14. She graduated with a BA in acting from The Royal Academy of Dramatic Art. She was on stage in many productions while attending school like the role of King Henry V, as Princess Katherine and Wuthering Heights, as Catherine Earnshaw.
Madekwe first began her career as an actress through the film Storm Damage. She has since made appearances in Teachers, Doctors Casualty and Drop Dead Gorgeous. Madekwe's breakthrough came in 2007's Woody Allen movie Cassandra's Dream. It was opposite Colin Farrell (who played the role of Cassandra) as well as Ewan McGrath. In the following film, she was the lead in Elisha, a BBC Three pilot drama, in West 10 LDN. In her role, she also played Ollie for six episodes in the series Trexx, Flipside, and Flipside. Also, the ITV2 drama Secret Diary of a Call Girl saw her in 2008 playing Bambi. Madekwe was also a part of 2008's comedy How to Alienate and Lose Friends. Her theatre credits comprise Little Sweet Thing by Roy Williams as well as Flight Path by David Watson.
Madekwe debuted in the US in the US with The Beautiful Life. The drama show aired in the US on The CW for only two episodes, but it was ended. In February of 2011 she was cast as Ashley Davenport in the ABC drama series Revenge. In late May 2013, it was revealed that Madekwe, who had been a series regular in the past two seasons, had decided to quit the show with a guest appearance on the premier episode of the new season. In the television series Salem in 2014, she portrayed Tituba in 2014 through 2016. From June to July 2012, the actress got married to her long-time partner actor Iddo Goldberg. They collaborated in the film Secret Diary of a Call Girl. He was also a part of the cast with her on Salem.
Ashley Leggat, an actress that was nominated two times for a Gemini Award, hails from a large Hamilton family. She was raised by the parents Roy and Patty as well as four brothers who were older than them: Brett, Todd and Bram twins, Rob, and Brett. Ashley's brothers were athletic and played baseball during summers and hockey in the winter. Ashley was unable to walk, but danced. As a result, as she grew older, she discovered Baby Ballet. Ashley began to develop a love of dancing when she began Baby Ballet. Ashley competed in ballet, tap and jazz in the high divisions. Ashley was awarded the best individualist in all the main dance contests, including, International Dance Challenge, Showstoppers, 5-6-7-8 Showtime, Flash Dance, and Dance, Dance, Dance among others.
