Maureen Denise McCormick is the one child, and the youngest to Richard McCormick. She was born August 5th, 1956 in Woodland Hills. Her mother was at home as an unmarried child. Michael, Dennis, Kevin and her sister are older. From a young time, McCormick loved to sing and dance. She also frequently put on shows with puppets for children in the community. When she won her first Baby Miss San Fernando Valley contest at just 6 years old Pat Domigan called from Jack Wormser Agency to ask whether McCormick would like to get into the show business. Her first major role came in 1964 when she appeared in a commercial featuring Mattel's brand new toy "Baby Pattaburp". A year later, she appeared in a commercial for "Chatty Catherine" from Mattel. She was later cast in Wind It up and It breaks at La Jolla Playhouse. McCormick was among of more than 1,200 children who auditioned was chosen to play the oldest daughter in The Brady Bunch. The show starred Florence Henderson, Robert Reed as well as a newlywed couple. The show ran for five seasons. McCormick revealed in Here's the story of her life: Resurrected Marcia Brady, and Finding My True Voice (published 2008) that it was in her fifth season on the show that she was close to losing her virginity. The actress was only 16 at the time, while Williams was 19. The moment was not the best time for them.
